Born in the south of England, Alastair spent his formative years in Botswana before returning to the UK to finish his education. He began his career in finance — successful by many measures, yet ultimately unfulfilling.
After moving to Australia, he found his calling in the Film & TV industry. Working across both camera and electrics departments, he developed a deep appreciation for the nuances of light, shadow, colour and composition — the foundation of his work as a cinematographer.
In recent years Alastair has split his time between commercial projects, sketch comedy and short films, tirelessly looking for projects and collaborators to work and grow with.
"The key role of the Cinematographer is understanding the vision in the Director's mind — helping them shape it, bring life to it, and ultimately capturing that emotion in the camera."
